What?
Wiki newbies are people who are new to wikis. But it is important to remember some things;
1. Newbies are not babies. Sadly, much documentation directed at so-called newbies is often condescending.
- A wiki newbie may have many experiences in other forms of online communication
- A computer newbie has life-experience in many other areas
2. We are all newbies at something all the time, especially when engaging with digital technologies: a constantly changing landscape.
In some communities, the term "Newbie" is considered derogatory and condescending. The preferred, respectful term is "newcomer".
